3 Lessons I learned watching the Last Jedi
***WARNING***
Major spoilers for The Last Jedi Ahead.
The Last Jedi is already one of the highest grossing movies of all time. Most people know and love the Star Wars universe with its Jedis, Siths, robots and wacky creatures.
However it’s not all fun and games in the epic space-odyssey originally created by George Lucas. There are a few deeply profound lessons we can learn by watching the movies — The Last Jedi is no exception.
The three main things I learned watching it is this:
1. Once you’ve found your purpose, you must work your ass off to fulfill it.
Once Rey settles in on Luke’s island, she works constantly to improve herself. Whether she is training to lift rocks, light-Sabre fighting or just practicing the use of the force, she is practicing and perfecting her craft many hours per day.
She is doing what Anders Ericsson — Peak Human Performance researcher par excellence — calls deliberate practice. Practice in which you are working on a very specific part of your craft in order to master it.
